Caleb Olson

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Caleb Stephen Olson, who left this world unexpectedly on January 16, 2025, at the young age of 18. His loss is devastating to all who knew and loved him.

Caleb was born January 6, 2007 in Marshfield, WI to Dean Olson and Hope Bonander. Caleb was a young man full of life, love, and kindness. He had an infectious laugh, a warm smile, and the kind of presence that could brighten any room. Caleb deeply loved his family, his mom, who was his rock, and his brothers, who shared his passions and joys. His little brother James was not only his sibling but also his best friend, and their bond was unbreakable.

Caleb had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. In fact, he didn’t just have friends, he had a whole lot of friends. He had a gift for making people feel special, seen, and valued. His hugs were legendary; when Caleb hugged you, you knew it wasn’t just a hug—it was a genuine expression of love and care that touched your heart.

Caleb’s memory will be cherished by his mom, his brothers, family and the countless friends who were blessed to know him. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will last forever.

Caleb is survived by his parents, Hope (Richard) Kruchten and Dean (Amy) Olson Jr.; his brothers, Dean Olson III and James Kruchten; his grandparents, Stephen (Karen) Bonander, Michelle (Wade) Latz, Dean Olson Sr., and Kathleen (Daniel) Douglas; and his aunts and uncles, Nick (Jennifer) Bonander, Josh (Sarah) Myers, Jordan (Christina) Myers, Nikiesha (Jake) Finn, Danielle Latz, Robert Latz, Brent (Maeve) Anderson, Matthew Kruchten, David York-Kruchten, Ruth Ann (Ivan) Smith, Somer (Dan) Cripe, and Maryann (Mathew) Potter. Caleb is also survived by many cousins, extended family members, and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Donald Bonander, Beverly Krank, Robert Shufelt, and Gail Niznik, as well as his uncle, Kevin Olson.

A Celebration of Caleb’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Olson Funeral Home with Teresa Pejsa officiating. A visitation with food will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

All are welcome to come and share stories, memories, and love as we honor the incredible person Caleb was.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Caleb’s legacy by spending time with your loved ones, going fishing, or offering a heartfelt hug to someone who needs it.

Rest easy, Caleb. You were deeply loved, and you will be forever missed.
