At their June 3rd meeting, the Council referred proposed Ordinance 2024-11 regarding ATV and UTV usage within city limits to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation with changes to the presented draft to allow trailers with restrictions. After the proposed ordinance is returned by the DOT with comments, staff will prepare a final draft for council consideration.

The Council adopted ordinance 2024-08 amending the side yard setbacks for corner lots. The change reduces street side yard setbacks to a flat 10-feet in the R-1 single family residential, R-2 limited multiple residential, and R-3 multiple residential districts. The hope is that this change will encourage development on existing corner lots that are vacant.
In other business:
The Council adopted Ordinance 2024-10 amending Chapter 3 of the City’s comprehensive plan. The changes will allow the city to qualify for certain housing grant programs. A public hearing was held at the Plan Commission meeting and no opposition was heard.
The Council approved the City of Menomonie and the Menomonie Police Lieutenants’ Association Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA for 2023-24).
