Menomonie Theater Guild is pleased to announce an exciting community collaboration with the Dunn County Play Group, led by area resident Rochelle Kroening. On Friday, July 26, 2024, the children of the playgroup and their loving adults will attend a sensory-friendly MTG production of Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR.
This performance will take place at the historic Mabel Tainter Theater in Menomonie and include adaptations to make the show accessible to young children and those with sensory sensitivities. Some of these adaptations include lower sound volume in the show, the omission of certain special effects, space for children to take a break, and a director’s introduction to the story before the show.
The playgroup, under the guidance of director Rochelle Kroening, has fostered a nurturing environment for families in the community for several years and is open to everyone in the community with a focus on children ages birth-preschool and their adults.

"The Mabel Tainter Theater is the perfect setting to immerse ourselves in the wonders of Willy Wonka, and we are grateful for the opportunity to host the Dunn County Play Group."
Willy Wonka JR, a beloved classic brought to life by a talented young cast and crew, promises to captivate audiences of all ages with its delightful music, engaging story, and memorable characters. The playgroup's attendance at this performance is a testament to the power of collaboration within our community, and the continuation of a promising partnership.

While the performance attended by the Dunn County Play Group is private, the Menomonie Theater Guild Production of Willy Wonka JR has public performances at the following dates and times:

Tickets are $13 for children/seniors/military and $15 for adults, including all fees, and are available at menomonietheaterguild.org.
