Girl Scout Troop Makes Comfort Bags for the MPD

Officers with the Menomonie Police Department can now offer children involved in stressful situations some comfort, thanks to the efforts of a local Girl Scout Troop.

Troop 3415 used money raised from their annual cookie sale to fill bags with books, stuffed animals, journals and pens, coloring books and crayons, and small toys. The bags will be carried in the officer's cars and given to children they encounter that may be having a challenging time. The girls chose this community service project because they wanted to help other kids in Menomonie.

Members of the troop are sixth graders at the Menomonie Middle School and St. Joe's Catholic School. Pictured with the girls are Officer Crist (left) and Detective Lieutenant Mroczenski (right).
