Lillian M. House, 92, of Menomonie passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at the Our House Senior Memory Care facility in Menomonie, Wisconsin. She was born February 10, 1932 in Eau Claire, WI to Herman and Delsie (Rohlfs) Gardow. She was raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Lillian married Malvin House on March 28, 1952 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She moved to Menomonie with Malvin and they farmed together in the Town of Sherman, Dunn County, for many years. Lillian was a great homemaker and cook and often help with haying by driving tractor and unloading hay bales.
She was actively involved in our 4-H club for all three as our general leader and was a great organizer of many fund raisers for the the club. She was an avid sports fan of her children and grandchildren. She and Dad spent many game nights warming bleachers at football games. Lillian was the mainstay behind the Belgian draft horse showing. Many of the decorations were her creations and nothing tasted better than some home cooked meals when she attended the horse shows.
Lillian is survived by 3 children: Deb (Dan) Heikkinen, Brantwood, WI, Ken (Julie) House and Dale House all of Menomonie; Grandchildren: Troy Torgerson, Weston WI, Travis (Nikki) Torgerson, New Richmond, WI, and Tara Brabant (Kurt Bloss) Rhinelander, WI. Jessica (Paul) Manor Elmwood, WI; 9 Great grandchildren: Evan Torgerson, (Bailee), Stevens Point WI, Kayla Torgerson, Lakeville, MN, Alec and Myka Torgerson, New Richmond, WI, Hailey Brabant (Evan Weid) Superior, CO, Chloe Brabant Hortonville, WI, Colin and Mikenna, Elmwood, WI, and Cierra House Menomonie, WI. She is further survived by 2 brothers: Darryl (Pat) Gardow Eau Claire, WI and Loyde Gardow, Eau Claire WI; 2 Sisters-in-Law: Clarice Gardow and Mavis Gardow both of Eau Claire, WI; 1 Brother-in-Law: Charles Lacey, Denver, CO. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Malvin, of 51 years, her parents, Herman and Delsie Gardow and her mother and father-in-law George and Elsie House; her grandson Lucas House, and great granddaughter Thea Ann Torgerson, 3 sisters, 5 brothers, 7 sisters-in-law, 5 brothers-in-laws, 9 nephews, 3 nieces.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Menomonie United Methodist Church in Menomonie, Wisconsin with Pastor Wendy Slaback officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Sherman Cemetery in Town of Sherman, Dunn County, Wisconsin.
