The Oaklawn Inn has historic connections to Menomonie’s past. Built in 1889 by Andrew Tainter, a horse racing enthusiast and one of the founders of Menomonie and builder of the Mabel Tainter Theater, this Queen Ann Victorian home was once surrounded by a stock farm and horse racing tracks.  The house has recently been beautifully renovated to its former Victorian splendor.  It now operates as a bed and breakfast and hosts special events.
