An Eau Claire native and active member of the Chippewa Valley music scene, Emily played guitar in the Grammy-nominated UW-Eau Claire Jazz Ensemble I, where the band won the Downbeat Award for Best Undergraduate College Big Band. She plays guitar for the Chippewa Valley Jazz Orchestra and received coaching from the Grammy-winning New York Voices.
A versatile guitarist skilled in jazz, funk, country/folk, classical, blues, and rock, Emily performs with Uncommon Denominator, an 8-piece band voted Best Cover Band in the Chippewa Valley for six consecutive years. She has played in thirty musical theatre productions and performed at the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre.
As an educator, Emily serves as Guitar & Bass Camp Program Director at The Shell Lake Arts Center and maintains a private studio in Eau Claire. She teaches guitar, ukulele, and bass to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced theory. Contact: emilywatkinsmusic@gmail.com.
