"Welcome to Menomonie" mural update from Menomonie native and artist Dale Manor:
This past weekend I drove back over to Menomonie to do a bit more work on the mural. I was hoping to get quite a bit done, but the weather had other things in mind!
Last Saturday morning I set up quickly and had been painting for about 40 minutes before it started to rain. It rained just long enough to have to shift to Plan B.
My son-in-law helped me tape plastic over part of the wall and secure it to one of our bakers scaffolds. We were able to work on the Rassbach logo under our temporary tent. About 7:15pm Saturday night, the clouds opened up and dumped a couple inches of rain. Luckily the paint was set up enough, so it didn't wash off.
Over the upcoming Labor Day weekend, we are planning on hitting the mural up and trying to get it closer to the "done" stage. Thanks to all who have cheered us on through the entire process...so far.
Mr. Manor is donating his time and materials for this project. He is accepting donations. If you are willing and able, please consider stopping by with a donation and a word of thanks for this beautiful mural.
A GoFundMe has also been set up for anyone willing to donate. Here is a cool video Mr. Manor's daughter posted on Facebook. Another fun video.
