MPD warns of jewelry scams

Attention, community members! We’ve recently seen an uptick in jewelry scams in our area. Scammers target unsuspecting individuals with offers that seem too good to be true, often peddling fake or stolen jewelry at “discounted” prices.

Here are some red flags to watch out for:

  • Suspiciously Low Prices: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

  • Pressure Tactics: Scammers often pressure you to make a quick decision.

  • Guilt Tripping You: Offering low prices because they "need" the money to travel somewhere.

Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police department immediately by calling (715) 232-1283.

Let’s keep our community safe and scam-free!
