Nancy J. (Brostrom) Wilson was born November 16, 1931, at home in Dunn County to Doris (Decker) and Carl Brostrom. She grew up in Dunn County and graduated from Colfax High School in 1949.
She married Jewel T. (Willie) Wilson from Bowling Green, Kentucky on October 3, 1952, in Tipon, Indiana. They were married for 61 years until Willie's death in 2013. They lived a short time in Elmwood, Indiana and then moved back to the Menomonie area.
During Nancy's life, she worked as a secretary/bookkeeper at Kelly Furniture Store in Menomonie, several years as a civilian employee for the United States Marine Corp in Washington, DC, JC. Penney Co. in Eau Claire, American Lutheran Home in Menomonie, and Dunn Co. Public Health Nursing Service in Menomonie. Nancy loved to knit, crochet, and sew. She was the official seamstress of the family. Nancy was also a great cook and made the best potato salad ever.
Nancy is survived by her three sons, Tom (Lela) Wilson, Wm. Carl (Susie) Wilson, and Michael (Marilyn) Wilson, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother Charles (Margaret) Brostrom of Menomonie, sister-in-law Patricia Brostrom of Phoenix, AZ and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jewel, parents Doris and Carl Borstrom, brother Virgil Brostrom of Phoenix, AZ and great grandson Kevin C. Wilson.
Nancy will be missed greatly by all who know her.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Menomonie, WI with Pastor Michael VanZee officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery in the Town of Dunn, Dunn County, WI at a later date.
