
Nancy Lou Schroeder, age 82 of Menomonie passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Welcome Home Assisted Living in Elmwood.
Nancy was born September 15, 1942 in Menomonie to Wesley and Lorraine (Score) Salaway. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1960. On March 11, 1967 she married Gary Schroeder at Little Elk Creek Lutheran Church.
She farmed alongside her husband Gary on the dairy farm for many years. Nancy also worked at the Dunn County Nursing Home in the laundry and her later years she worked at 3M retiring after 12 years.
Nancy was a lifelong member at Little Elk Creek Church and was a part of the choir and the women’s circle. She enjoyed her performances with the Hen House Five at local events. She was so grateful for her lady group of friends and various weekend get aways with Marg, Judy, Vicki, Judy and Lanee. The many bus trips with Carol, Ruth, Karen and Mary. Also the yearly trips up north with her family.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Robin (Pat) Johnson and son Rich (DeJon) Schroeder; four grandchildren Cassie Johnson, Jared (Kate) Walters, Tobi and Emma Schroeder; great grandchildren Ellie and Ava Walters; her sister Pam (Mel) Klaustermeier. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Wesley and mother Lorraine, stepfather Bob Hamann, her husband Gary, sister and brother-in-law Rayola and (Donald) Herman, father and mother-in-law Richard (Linka) Schroeder.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Little Elk Creek Lutheran Church, Township of Red Cedar, Dunn County, with Rev. Dr. Judy Kincaid officiating. Visitation will from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Nancy and her husband Gary will be laid to rest at Froen Cemetery, Township of Red Cedar, Dunn County.
