Noreen family recognized for donation to the Menomonie Athletic Booster Club

The Menomonie Athletic Booster Club recognized the family of Pete Noreen before the start of the MHS boys basketball game on January 24th.

Upon Pete’s passing this past October, his family chose to honor his legacy by requesting memorials be directed to the Booster Club. The booster club is grateful to the Noreen family for their incredibly generous donation of $2,500.

Pete Noreen was a lifelong resident of Menomonie, graduating with the Class of 1959. He continued his education at UW-Stout and dedicated 35 years to teaching industrial arts at Menomonie Junior High.

As a standout athlete at MHS, Pete earned an incredible 12 athletic letters in football, basketball, and baseball. His remarkable achievements were formally recognized in 2023 when he was inducted into the Menomonie High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Pete’s dedication to MHS athletics extended beyond his own accomplishments. Together with his wife, Jill, Pete was a constant presence at MHS sporting events, cheering on their children—Julie, Nancy, Mike, Sam, and Deanna—and their grandsons, Ben, Jake, and Ray, as they proudly participated in Menomonie High School athletics.

Beyond their presence at events, Pete and Jill were also dedicated members of the Menomonie Athletic Booster Club, demonstrating their steadfast commitment to supporting our student-athletes.
