The Colfax Free Fair is this weekend, Thursday, June 16th - Sunday, June 19th. More info can be found on their website and Facebook page.
The library has Bingo cards with local activities to complete. Stop by the information desk to pick one up. Return cards by July 15th for a chance to win a Culver's gift card.
Be on the lookout for turtles crossing the road. In Wisconsin this most frequently occurs between the months of May and July. If you are going to help turtles cross the road, make sure to point them in the direction they were already heading.
This is a not a local event but sounded too interesting to not mention. Wheatfield Hill Organics, which is 1 mile south of Durand on Hwy 25, is having a special market on June 30th starting at 12 noon. Inga Witscher from PBS's Around the Farm Table will be there. River Valley Raptors Inc. will have birds of prey (raptors) on site for demonstration and education purposes. I don't believe Wheatfield Hill Organics has a website, but you can find out more about them on Facebook.
In addition to clothing, the Foster Closet gives out person care items. They currently are in great need of size 3 and 4 diapers and baby wipes.
Donations of these items can be dropped off on Sundays from 12-3 pm or by appointment. They can also be shipped directly to the Foster Closet, 3375 Kothlow Ave, Suite 40, Menomonie WI 54751. Any help is greatly appreciated.
