Oaklawn in Classical Concert Series: Dean's List Quartet - Feb. 9th

The newly formed Dean’s List Quartet will perform at the next Oaklawn Inn Classical Music Series on Sunday, February 9, 2024, at 3 pm. The quartet will present classical music to celebrate Valentine’s Day. This is a perfect, elegant gift to give to a sweetheart. It's also a way to shake off mid-winter doldrums!

The Dean’s List Quartet is Dean Langby and Lilah Barneson on violin, Susan Trotter on viola and Angie Sutliff on cello. All are local musicians and experienced players residing in the Chippewa Valley.

A string quartet is made up of four players: two violins, a viola, and a cello. String quartets began in Europe in 18th-century aristocracy as part of chamber music concerts meant to be performed in one’s chamber. The repertoire for string quartet is vast. Many great composers have written for string quartets, including Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, and Mendelssohn.

Oaklawn Inn is located at 423 Technology Drive East, Menomonie. The Inn was built in 1889 by the Tainter family and has been returned to its former Victorian glory. Experience beautiful Romantic music in splendid and intimate surroundings! Enjoy lovely refreshments and chat with the musicians after the concert!

Seating is limited. Get tickets at Oaklawninn.com or call 715-235-6155.
