The Oaklawn Inn will host another recital in its fledgling Classical Music Series on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at 3 pm, with flutist, Jill Heinke Moen. Heinke Moen calls herself a “universitile musician” and it’s easy to see why. She not only plays classical music but also jazz and rock (she plays bass guitar). She has studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the Royal College of Music in London and has won many awards for her flute playing.
Flutist, Tim Lane, will join her on the program. Refreshments will follow the recital.
Seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased at oaklawninn.com.
The Oaklawn Inn has historic connections to Menomonie’s past. Built in 1889 by the Tainter family, one of the founders of Menomonie and builders of the Mabel Tainter Theater, the Inn was once surrounded by a stock farm and horse racing tracks. Andrew Tainter was a horse racing enthusiast. The Inn has been beautifully renovated to its former Victorian splendor. It now operates as a bed and breakfast.
