The City of Menomonie will begin Phase I of the Pine Avenue Reconstruction Project on or about Monday, March 31, 2025, with work extending from Wilson Street to Game Park Road. Construction is expected to continue through the end of the school year.
The City’s contractor, Haas Construction, will begin with the western segment between Wilson Street and the Wakanda Elementary School driveway.
As a result:
Pine Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Wilson Street to the school driveway starting March 31.
The school driveway will remain accessible from the east.
A signed detour will be in place via Knapp Street, Maple Avenue, and Wakanda Park Road.
Pavement removal and pulverizing will take place early in the project, making the road bumpy and uneven—drivers are advised to proceed slowly.
Sidewalk removal will also occur early on, with a temporary walkway provided on Maple Avenue between Messenger Street and Wakanda Park Road for pedestrian access.
The City encourages residents, staff, and parents of Wakanda Elementary students to allow for extra travel time and use caution in the area.
