Robert G. Holmberg, age 96 of Saint Paul, Minnesota Passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025 at his son’s home near Tainter Lake surrounded by loved ones.
Bob was born July 17, 1928 in Menomonie, Wisconsin to Elof Holmberg and Lila (Doughty). He grew up between Menomonie and Downsville.
Bob was a self-taught guitar player, avid trout fisherman, and hunter. He was a lifetime member of the Midwest Power Boat Association. One of his biggest passion was hydroplane racing which he shared with his son Ken. They raced together for 35 years. Bob took his last ride at the age of 90, on Tainter Lake in Wisconsin.
Bob is survived by his brother Bill (Janie) Holmberg; sons Duke Holmberg and Ken (Adeline) Holmberg; two daughters Linda (Scott) Winston, and Sandra Thompson; grandchildren, great grandchildren and several furry friends.
He will be buried at Riverview Cemetery in Downsville, Wisconsin
