The Rotary Club of Menomonie recently awarded $10,000 in grants to eleven area non-profits and community groups. The funds are raised through the club’s annual fall Rotary Rose Sale.
Groups receiving the awards for 2025 were:
The Dunn County Historical Society, represented by Melissa Kneeland - restoration of the Tainter Playhouse.
Home and Community Education (HCE) Dunn County, represented by Norma Hurlburt - purchase of books for Head Start.
Landmark Conservancy, represented by Rick Remington - staff expenses for land purchase grant project.
Reach Out and Read, represented by Dr. Sara Herrmann - free books for children aged 6 months through 5 years at wellness visits.
Monday's Meals at the Menomonie United Methodist Church, represented by Mary Conklin- update cooking equipment.
Junior Achievement, represented by Susan Peterson - to facilitate resumes and mock interviews with local employers
Girls on the Run, represented by Rose Dolan-Neill - 8-week running camp focusing on healthy habits and social and emotional skills.
Menomonie Public Library, represented by Jodi Bird - providing books to families at Stepping Stones
Free Clinic of the Greater Menomonie Area, represented by Ann Schram - dental care supplies.
The Mabel Tainter Theater, represented by Dustin Olson - bringing all are 4th graders to a live performance at the theater.
Menomonie Youth Hockey Association - update equipment and add a dry land training area.
