It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sandy McIvor, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the age of 83 on November 28, 2024.
Sandra Joy Rognholt was born on May 15, 1941 in Gilmanton, Buffalo County, WI, to parents John and Elsie (Bielefeldt) Rognholt. She was born and raised on the farm with her parents, three brothers and three sisters. She graduated from GIimanton High School in 1959. She then moved to Eau Claire Wl where she attended vocational school and worked at Holsum Bakery and met the love of her life, Bruce McIvor.
Sandra and Bruce were married on July 1st 1961 in Eau Claire, WI. She and Bruce shared 63 years of marriage together. They raised five children who were their greatest pride and joy.
After raising her children, Sandy worked for 25 years at the Goodwill store having many job titles including assistant manager and cashier. She also worked for Walmart, Don's Super Value, and worked for ILife of Wisconsin up to the age of 82.
Sandra (Sandy) was involved in teaching Sunday school in her younger years in Elk Mound, Durand, and Menomonie. She was also involved in the United Methodist Church choirs and the Joyful Noise Choir as music was a big part of her upbringing. She talked often of playing the French horn in the high school marching band and singing in choir and triple trio. Sandy enjoyed crafting, sewing, singing, and puzzles. Her favorite colors were blue and pink. She and Bruce also loved to travel whenever they could get away.
Sandy was a good cook and she made the best homemade pizza and the best rhubarb bars!
Sandy could always come up with simple solutions to life's problems to calm you down when you're at your worst.
She was always in a good mood. Sandy lived her life in virtue. She didn't swear, didn't drink, didn't smoke, didn't lie, cheat or steal. She also didn’t judge others and always acted in kindness. She had a quiet and shy disposition and never tried to be someone who stood out. She remained humble her entire life.
Her beautiful laugh and ability to make simple, dean hearted jokes will be the thing we will miss the most.
This little blue eyed, blonde haired, left handed shy girl from Gilmanton, WI made a difference in this world! Sandy will forever be missed by her family and friends.
