Chancellor, three students, three alumni to speak in three ceremonies at Johnson Fieldhouse

Spring commencement will be held for 1,037 graduates on Saturday, May 4, at University of Wisconsin-Stout.
A total of 828 undergraduate and 209 Graduate Studies students will receive degrees.
Three ceremonies will be held in Johnson Fieldhouse:
The ceremonies also can be seen via livestream on the UW-Stout commencement website and at the Memorial Student Center.
Provost Glendalí Rodríguez will host the ceremonies. Chancellor Katherine Frank will provide remarks to the graduates and confer degrees.
Three graduates also will speak:
9:30 a.m., Kat Schlauderaff, of Chaska, Minn., digital marketing technology
1:30 p.m., Genevieve Czaplewski, of Grand Island, Neb., applied social science
5 p.m., Sarah Jasa, of St. Paul, master’s in marriage and family therapy
Three alumni will be guest speakers. The undergraduates will be addressed by Shelly Ibach, CEO of Sleep Number, based in Minneapolis. She is a 1981 UW-Stout graduate in fashion merchandising, now called fashion design and development.
The Graduate Studies graduates will be addressed by Emily Berge, Eau Claire City Council president, a licensed professional counselor and owner of Wellspring Counseling and Consulting. She has degrees from UW-Stout in human development and family studies, 2002, and clinical mental health counseling, 2006.
Also speaking will be Dallas Pankowski, who earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in industrial education from UW-Stout in 1960 and 1961. UW-Stout will award honorary doctorates to Dallas and his wife, Edye, of Plover.
The Pankowskis own Pankowski Associates, a real estate construction management company in the Stevens Point area. They have supported UW-Stout students through two annual STEM scholarships and a recent major gift for the Recreation Complex renovation.
The ceremonies will include music by the UW-Stout Symphonic Band and the Jazz Orchestra, directed by Aaron Durst; and the Chamber Choir, Symphonic Singers and Devil Tones Acapella, directed by Jerry Hui.
Students and members of the UW-Stout community can share comments and photos on UW-Stout social media platforms using the hashtag #StoutGrad2024.
Diplomas will be mailed to students four to six weeks after final grades are issued.
