Three of the top four golfers, including sectional qualifying Jace Acker, from spring ‘24 will have to be replaced for the 2025 Mustangs boys golf team. The Mustangs finished fifth in the Big Rivers conference last year and are setting the goal to crack the top four in the conference this season.

Second year head coach Jeff Hastings said, “We are looking to fill those three varsity spots,” from a season ago. Hastings, who is also the head girls golf coach, will be assisted by Cory Tritt while Jay Ouellette will help with the junior varsity.

Some golfers that will compete for those spots are juniors Isaac Anderson, Gabe Henderson, Isaac Rynes, Trent Wold and sophomores Jack Andraschko, Ben Dahms, Wes Miller, Quin Rabeneck and Kenny Heim.

Junior Tyler Reckin, a medalist at the BRC conference meet and second-team All-BRC selection a season ago, will lead the Mustangs as the top returning. Senior Mitch Kopaczewski will compliment Reckin as the other varsity returner.

Numbers look great for Mustangs golf with just over 30 golfers planning to swing the golf clubs in April and May. These golfers will fill out five varsity and junior varsity spots, rotating players at the junior varsity level each meet throughout the golf season for newcomers to gain experience.

Menomonie will use the renovated Tanglewood golf course as their home golf course after being at Whitetail golf course the past three seasons. The Mustangs golf team will open on the road April 9th at the prestigious Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson.
