Wilson Park Benefits from Rotary Clubs of Menomonie Projects

By Jeremy Untz, Rotarian

Recently, the Rotary Clubs of Menomonie collaborated to complete two projects to provide additional amenities to the local parks. The Rotary Club of Menomonie and the Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club provided volunteers, materials, grants and donations to enhance the seating at Wilson Park. The two clubs had over 30 volunteers and spent nearly 70 hours assembling the park benches and picnic tables now in use at Wilson Park.

The 16 park benches were purchased by the Ludington Guard Band and donated in honor of John Dotseth. The City of Menomonie was kind enough to deliver those benches to the park in time to be enjoyed at the late season concerts.

The picnic table project was funded through donations from the local Rotary clubs, and they received a matching grant from the Rotary District to cover the nearly $8,000 cost of the 24 picnic tables.

Rotary is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world
