Winfred "Tiki" F. Einum

WINFRED "TIKI" FRANCES EINUM, 93, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on April 2nd, 2025 under the wonderful care of St. Croix Hospice and Cornerstone Caregiving, for which she will be eternally grateful.

Tiki was born in Menomonie, Wisconsin on November 5th, 1931 to Fred and Evelyn Einum. When Tiki was nine years old, her family moved into the Dunn County Jail, where both of her parents served as sheriff for 12 consecutive years, inspiring a frequent declaration from Tiki and her siblings that they “grew up in jail”. Tiki went on to study education and enjoyed a 37 year teaching career in St. Paul, MN. She was most proud to have been a part of a team that opened an alternative school for teens who weren’t making it in the regular system. She lived a wonderful life and touched the lives of many as a daughter, sister, aunt, teacher, mentor, friend, family historian, champion for those in need, helper, supporter and provider of good information. The list could go on and on.

In more recent years, as Tiki fought her way through different health challenges, her favorite saying came to be “old age ain’t for sissies” and for those of us heavy of heart to see her go, we rejoice that she no longer has to fight her way through chronic arthritic pain.

Tiki is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and countless beloved friends that came to be family.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn, and father, Fred Einum, sisters Janet Mattei, Rosemary Kreuzer, Elizabeth "Deedee" Eiseth, Patty Middlebrook and brother Bernard "Pum" Einum.

As per Tiki's request, there will be no formal services. A private burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Menomonie.
